Lip Blush is considered one of the biggest trends for 2021.
It is now 2022 and the technology is still very popular.
A make-up tattoo its world is a far cry from the cosmetic crimes that plagued the 80s 90s (shout out to your aunt's navy blue eyelid tattoo, or the inlaid lip contour she's hated for at least two decades)
I'm talking about realistic looks, microblading eyebrow tattoos and powdering, soft and modern eyelid tattoos, and the trendiest trend right now, Lip Blush lip tattoos. It's a semi-permanent tattoo that softly defines and fills in the lips to give it a permanent colour, like a really good tinted lip balm.
What is Lip Blush?
Lip Blush is a long-lasting make-up that colours the lips using a cosmetic machine and pigments. The result is similar to a lip plumper in that the lips appear a little fuller.
But Lip Blush doesn't actually change the shape of your lips. Instead, you get a soft, tinted colour that visually shapes the lips, covers uneven pigmentation or scars, and gives the illusion of a fuller, plumper lip.
How durable is lip tattooing?
In general, the Lip Blush lip tattoo lasts for two to three years, gradually fading over time until the lips slowly return to their natural shade. So, lips look much lighter after two years than they do after six months, which is why many people come to us after 1-2 years to refresh the colour.
How painful is lip tattooing?
Even though it is a tattoo, we use a topical numbing cream, which dulls the pain considerably. However, in many cases we do not use it.
Everyone's pain threshold is different, but in general, the pain of a Lip Blush is often described as small pinches or light scratches - nothing unbearable or scary.
Healing process
As with all tattoos, there is a healing process. Immediately after the tattoo, the lips look strong and shiny, but don't be alarmed. The healing time for lips is 2-3 days.
Once the lips are fully healed, there is rapid healing due to minimal trauma. The color will fade by at least -10%, the lip will not be as contoured as it was freshly.
It is very important to keep your lips moisturised for the first 1-2 weeks.
