Some changes have been made to the basic training in make-up tattooing.
I'm sure many of you have noticed what a mess the make-up tattoo industry has become in recent years. This has affected all our colleagues in the beauty industry, as we often see "prettier and prettier" make-up tattoos on our guests! A few people from the profession have joined forces to initiate a programme requirement that will systematically training for make-up tattoo artists, the integration of their work into a coherent framework. Until now, anyone with a cosmetic degree could tattoo, irrespective of the field, where, for how long and in what quality they had acquired the basics. This system was fundamentally flawed because, unfortunately, there was no meaningful education in any form within cosmetology schools. We believe and trust that the majority of those working in the profession feel that it was high time for this change.
On 25 January 2022, the Professional Group of Make-up Tattooists was established within the BKIK. This was the first step.
On 22 August 2022, the make-up tattooing programme requirement was officially included in the IKK programme requirements.
What does it mean?
From that date, initial training can only be officially conducted and certified in accordance with the professional requirements and the number of hours specified in the programme requirements. Basic courseas from now on it will be considered as basic vocational training, only for those who are registered in the adult education system and have an E number! Any instructor who will meet the instructor requirements can apply for this!
Why is it good for make-up tattoo artists?
There will be no 1-day make-up tattoo basic training that will not give you any knowledge!
There will be no eyebrow tattoo specialists! Cosmeticians can also paint eyelashes, know the structure of the skin, massage, do cleansing treatments, anti-aging treatments, waxing... Some of these are specializations, but they have the basic knowledge for everything. We believe that a make-up tattooist is also a MAKINKTOVATOR if he knows the whole profession! From now on, knowledge of all three areas of the face - eyebrows, eyes and lips - is compulsory in the basic training.
Following the courses, you must sit an examination at an official accredited examination centre, for which you can only apply with a certificate recorded in the FAR system. This has not been the case so far. And this is where the most important point comes in, as it will be the filter to screen out non-professionals who want to fill in the gaps in their knowledge with confidence. Remember, this is a responsible profession! We will create a treatment that will make a lasting difference to your client's face for years!
The basic training can be completed with a cosmetician's qualification and practice! It is unacceptable that while others have spent years, time, energy and money to become a good make-up tattoo artist, others can jump out of the office and become a make-up tattoo artist in 2 weeks, learning the profession from youtubers or foreign miracle workers without any license in Hungary in one or two days.
